Alfonso Carpio ‘Mijita’: The Pure Voice of Jerez Flamenco

Alfonso Carpio ‘Mijita’ was born in Jerez de la Frontera, in the San Miguel neighborhood, a place deeply connected to flamenco. Coming from a family deeply rooted in flamenco singing, he showed his talent from a young age, following the teachings and legacy of his elders.

Career

In 1997, Alfonso released his first album, “Cantes de Hoy y de Siempre”, in collaboration with guitarists Moraíto and Antonio Jero. This album includes traditional flamenco styles such as soleás, bulerías, and fandangos.

In 2019, he released his second album, “El Palacio de Cristal”, an homage to his family home, in collaboration with guitarists Manuel Parrilla, Diego del Morao, Paco Cepero, and Jose Galvez. This album features bulerías, alegrías, and soleás por bulería, showcasing his passion for flamenco roots and his deep connection to his homeland.
